Welcome to the third edition of “Ask Us Anything” presented by BookMark! In this episode, we delve into the intricacies of LinkedIn, offering advanced strategies for navigating the algorithm, optimizing your profile, and refining sales techniques. Joining us this time are Dilyana, Tedy, Daria, and Emo.
Demystifying LinkedIn’s Algorithm Enhancements
In our exploration of LinkedIn’s algorithm changes, we had an insightful conversation about the new introduction of suggested posts. The incorporation of those posts aims to revitalize content circulation, ensuring that posts of enduring relevance reach their intended audience well beyond their initial posting date. Тhis significant alteration promised to benefit both content creators, by amplifying the lifespan of their posts, and users, by curating a feed that aligned more closely with their interests and professional needs.
Profile Optimization: Doubling Down on Skills
Not only did we delve into the new type of posts, but also discussed the recent update – the double number of skills users can list on their profiles, from 50 to 100! This enhancement is yet not present for all accounts on LinkedIn, but generally, it allows you to create a more nuanced depiction of one’s skills and areas of expertise, significantly increasing visibility to recruiters and potential collaborators. During our discussion, Emo and Didi shared insights and personal experiences on selecting and prioritizing skills for inclusion, emphasizing the importance of maintaining an up-to-date and relevant skills section.
Competitive Analysis Reimagined on LinkedIn
The essence of understanding your position within the professional ecosystem cannot be overstated, and LinkedIn’s enhanced competitor analysis feature offers a more streamlined and intuitive approach to navigating this landscape. Despite the improvement in user experience, Dari voiced concern over the limitation of tracking only nine competitors, suggesting a need for expansion to accommodate a broader competitive overview. Nevertheless, the upgraded feature provides a valuable starting point for a deep dive into competitive strategy. This encourages users to undertake a meticulous examination of industry trends, competitor strengths, and potential areas for differentiation. By leveraging this tool, professionals and companies can craft more targeted and effective strategies, positioning themselves advantageously in a crowded marketplace.
Distinguishing Deep Sellers from Their Shallow Counterparts
Last but definitely not least, we discussed the collaborative report between LinkedIn Sales Solutions and Ipsos. We highlighted the contrast between “deep” and “shallow” sellers, with deep sellers exhibiting a more strategic and holistic approach to sales, thereby significantly increasing their success rates. This segment of our discussion shed light on three critical habits that characterize deep sellers: thorough industry research, the cultivation of key relationships within target accounts, and the strategic engagement with hidden allies. These practices not only enhance the depth and breadth of sellers’ networks but also underscore the critical role of AI tools in streamlining research and outreach efforts.
By adapting to algorithm changes, optimizing your profile with a keen focus on skills, conducting thorough competitive analysis, and embracing effective sales strategies, you are well-equipped to navigate the professional landscape on LinkedIn with confidence. As the platform evolves, staying informed and adaptable is paramount to harnessing its full potential for your professional development.
