Novotel Sofia is a 4-star internationally managed business hotel with modern design and standards. It is part of Accor – a world-leading augmented hospitality group with over 4 900 hotels worldwide. The hotel specializes in hosting events and has extensive experience with business conferences.
When you have a team full of passionate professionals, it’s tempting to tag everyone in every LinkedIn post. But that can backfire.
The problem?
Tagging too many people can reduce post reach due to LinkedIn’s algorithm penalizing irrelevant tags. It also dilutes engagement, making the strategy ineffective.
The objective was to keep the human and team-focused tone while improving visibility and maintaining fairness. We needed a structured tagging system that prioritized relevance, balanced exposure, and made employees true ambassadors of the brand.

We introduced a targeted tagging strategy that focused on quality over volume. Starting in March 2024, we limited the number of mentions to up to five employees per post and selected them based on direct relevance to the content. The tags were rotated regularly, giving everyone visibility over time without overwhelming the feed. This change allowed the page to keep its human, local voice while aligning with LinkedIn’s best practices. The result was a noticeable increase in organic reach, driven by employees who genuinely engaged with posts that represented their role or expertise. By being more deliberate with tags, Novotel Sofia activated personal networks in a meaningful way, turning team members into stronger brand ambassadors and amplifying visibility without algorithm penalties.
